Principal Planner – Long-Range Planning | Auburn, AL
Description
This position is primarily responsible for assisting in administering long-range planning and development activities for the City. Some of the major duties of this position include overseeing the preparation of comprehensive plans and other long-range planning documents; conducting complex and sensitive professional planning projects, research, and analysis; acting as lead author or editor of plans; providing project management for long-range planning tasks; developing work schedules and assignments; administering consultant contracts; maintaining overall work programs; supervising project team members engaged in project-related tasks; supervising other planners engaged in long-range planning support activities; gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data related to long-range planning processes; assessing issues and identifies needs as related to planning processes.
Job Requirements
A baccalaureate degree in urban planning or a closely related field and at least one to three years of experience in a comparable field are required. AICP certification is required.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range is $5,845.74 – $6,897.97/month, depending upon qualifications. The City of Auburn has an excellent benefits package.
