Community Development Planner | Mobile, AL
An employee in the Community Development Planner role is responsible for researching and analyzing economic, housing and community planning information and data, preparation of development and redevelopment plans, and preparation of reports, summaries and studies. This person coordinates and implements various plans and coordinates system design in the automation and computerization of traditional planning and community development activities. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Community Planning and Development Director, or other superior, with considerable latitude for independent judgment in securing information, interpreting and explaining various planning principles related to the development of neighborhood, housing, community and economic development plans and reports.
Requirements of the position include: attainment of a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in economics, urban planning, public administration or closely related field and a minimum of one year experience in urban planning, housing, community and economic development planning; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.
