Election to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners (FAICP) is one of the highest honors that the American Institute of Certified Planners, the professional institute of the American Planning Association, bestows upon a member. This honor recognizes the achievements of the professional as a model planner with significant contributions to planning and society. Fellowship will be granted to planners selected by a Committee operating at the national level. Members of the GA Chapter are eligible for consideration if they have been members of AICP for 15 years or more, are members in good standing of AICP, and have achieved excellence in professional practice, teaching and mentoring, research, public or community service, and leadership and made an outstanding contribution to the profession over an extended period of time.
Nominations must be submitted in one of three ways:
- Chapter president
- Division chair
- 10 AICP members
Chapter presidents and Division chairs receive lists of all AICP members eligible for nomination.
Assembling a nomination package that captures an exemplary planner’s career requires considerable time and attention to details. Begin nominations well ahead of time.
Applicants are responsible for preparing their nomination packages, which must be submitted to APA by August 25, 2021. Nomination materials are significant, and applicants should begin preparing them as soon as possible.
