The East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission is seeking a qualified candidate for a Regional Planner position.
Regional Planner for Community Development is a professional position and responsible for managing a wide range of programs serving local governments in a five (5) county region under the direction of the Deputy Director. This position is primarily responsible for researching, preparing, and administering various grants such as CDBG, LWCF, RTP, TAP, etc. as well as assisting with planning studies and reports. The Regional Planner for Community Development is responsible for city and regional planning for economic and community development, provision of technical assistance to local governments, implementation of activities, and other duties as assigned. The Regional Planner for Community Development is required to exercise initiative and judgement in executing tasks. The Deputy Director reviews the Regional Planner’s work performance through periodic staff meetings, project status reports, and review of reports, plans, applications, or other documents produced.
