Description of Job/Position:
The City of Tuscaloosa’s Planning Division is looking to hire a self-starting individual able to run with ideas and think critically to serve as a Planner within the Office of Urban Development. The Planner performs specialized work functions associated with city planning and zoning within Urban Development. Work is multifaceted, including implementing and enforcing all codes, maintaining and updating databases, and providing support to our three boards and commissions, as well as assisting in the daily operations of the department. Job Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Community Development, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field is required, along with one year experience in project coordination, comprehensive planning, historic preservation, working with GIS databases and mapping creation, and/or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job.
Salary & Benefits:
$62,415.17 – $82,821.74 Annually
