DESCRIPTION
Central Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission is seeking a qualified, experienced Planner/Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Analyst to support agency wide planning, data collection and GIS needs. The successful candidate must be: knowledgeable of general planning principals, geographic information systems and spatial data; proficient in data collection and management; innovative and a reliable problem solver; and demonstrate effective task management/communication skills.

- Significant responsibilities in comprehensive planning projects (long-range planning)
- Reviewing development proposals (current planning)
- Transportation Planning – Rural Planning Organization
- Leading GIS projects and initiatives
job requirements

- Team orientation and personal accountability
- Masters degree in planning or a closely related field.
- Demonstrable experience in ESRI-based products, including ARC Map, ARC Editor and other GIS-related applications relating to planning and ability to maintain department GIS data and provide related training.
- Thorough knowledge of fundamental planning issues and concepts, including basic planning theory, urban design, subdivision, environmental issues, growth management, economic development, housing, and transportation.
SALARY & BENEFITS
- Starting salary of $30,497.00 per year (Based on Experience)
